DAY 1: ARRIVAL TO RAPA NUI
At your arrival at Rapa Nui Airport a transfer will take you to the hotel. We recommend a visit of Hanga Roa Village with its fisher port, church and museum.
DAY 2: TREKKING AHU TEPEU TO ANAKENA
After breakfast we will start by car driving along the west coast until reaching Ahu Tepeu. From here our trek leads us along the untouched north-east coast to the beach of Anakena and on our way we will visit Ahus (platforms), caves and petroglyphs.
DAY 3: TREKKING ORONGO
We will drive to the ceremonial site of Tahai. We begin hiking up the extinct volcano Rano Kau through meadows and little forests. Enjoy the views of the Pacific Ocean in front of us… Afterwards we will walk towards the ceremonial village of Orongo, where the birdman competition took place. Here you can see the spectacular petroglyphs related to this culture and the 3 islands situated opposite the coast. Then a car takes us to Ahu Vinapu and the Ana Kai Tangata Cave with its paintings.
DAY 4: HORSEBACKRIDING AHU AKIVI & TREKKING TEREVAKA
You will start riding along the north-west coast passing by the ceremonial village of Tahai. On our way we will visit attractive caves and then arrive at Ahu Akivi. In the afternoon, we will drive until arriving at Ahu Akivi. There are approx. 500 m until we arrive at the top of the youngest Rapa Nui volcano, Maunga Terevaka. You will be amazed by the beautiful 360º view of the coast and the island.
DAY 5: NAVIGATION 3 MOTUS
Pick-up at your hotel and drive to the port of Hanga Piko. From here we start our trip by boat (weather depending) to the islands Motu Iti, Motu Nui and Motu Kao Kao. Participants of the birdman competition had to swim to the island of Motu Nui in order to find the egg of the sooty tern, which bred on the tiny islet.
DAY 6: TRANSFER TO RAPA NUI AIRPORT
Transfer to Rapa Nui Airport according to your flight schedule.
