DAY 1: ARRIVAL AT ARICA & CITY TOUR
After arrival at Arica Airport, we will start visiting the city centre of Arica including the market, the beach, the “Morro” and the Azapa Valley with “Miguel de Azapa” Archaeological Museum, preserving mummies and pre-Incan relics dating back to 5.000 B.C. Drop-off at your hotel in Arica.
DAY 2: FD TRANSFER ARICA, SOCORAMA, PUTRE
Heading towards Putre, we soon arrive at the village of Poconchile, which has one of Chile’s oldest churches. Our tour goes on to the Quebrada de Cardones (canyon), a protected area of Pre-Andean landscape with the predominant candelabra cactus. Our next stop is Socorama, an Aymara farming village featuring cobbled streets, the 17th-century Iglesia de San Francisco (church), and terraced hills of oregano. In the afternoon we will reach our final destination Putre.
DAY 3: FD SURIRE SALT LAKE
We leave Putre and enter the National Reserve Las Vicuñas, which preserves high-altitude wildlife, especially Vicuñas. Soon we reach the impressive Salar de Surire, home to Vicuñas, Llamas, Guanacos, Alpacas, Vizcachas and three species of flamingos. Then we have a rest at the Polloquere Hot Springs and enjoy your picnic-lunch… In the afternoon return to Putre.
DAY 4: FD VISVIRI & ALLANE CANYON
Our tour starts heading east on the International Highway “Chile 11”, which connects with Bolivia. Crossing the Caquena Bofedal (swamp), we soon arrive at Caquena Village, located at an altitude of 4.600 m. We continue driving through altiplanic landscape and finally reach Visviri, the northernmost village in Chile located at only 3 km to Bolivia. We leave Visviri and head back south towards Putre, passing by Humapalca and the impressive Allane Canyon with beautiful rock formations of different shapes and colors.
DAY 5: FD TRANSFER PUTRE, LAUCA NP, ARICA
Today we leave Putre heading east towards the Lauca National Park. Soon we will reach Cotacotani Lagoons, a set of four lagoons connected by channels and natural cascades. Then we will go on to Chungará Lake, located at 4.600m above sea level. Enjoy the views of the snow-capped twin volcanoes Parinacota and Pomerape. We will leave Lake Chungara Lake and head back towards Arica with detour to Parinacota village.
DAY 6: TRANSFER OUT
According to your flight you will be picked-up at your hotel and transferred to Arica airport.
