Tagua Tagua Park is one of the best kept secret of the Lake District. Located 3,5 hours away from Puerto Varas, is a perfect spot for nature lovers, seeking for unexplored areas and pristine landscapes.
DAY 1: PUERTO VARAS – PUELO
We will departure from Puerto Varas (or Tepual Ariport, Puerto Montt) heading southeast until Tagua Tagua lake, where a boat will be waiting to take us to Mitico Puelo Lodge. Check in, lunch and free afternoon to enjoy lodge facilities or to make an excursion. Overnight at Mitico Puelo Lodge
DAY 2: PUELO_TAGUA TAGUA PARK
Early morning we will cross the lake to the opposite shore where Tagua Tagua park main access is. We will make a brief stop an the Information Center and begin the 6.5 km trail that will lead us to the spectacular Alerces Refuge located by the shore of the lagoon. Overnight at Alerce Refuge.
DAYS 3:ALERCE REFUGE- QUETRUS REFUGE
After a delicious breakfast we will venture through an ancient forest that divides the Alerces with Quetrus lagoon, our next destination. This route takes about 3 hours ascending over the valley until reach a glacial amphitheater with huge granite walls amid a grove of pure Alerce trees. In this incredible scene is Quetrus Refuge, where we spend the night.
DAY 4: PUELO
Free morning to relax and enjoy the breathtaking views offered by the refuge´s terraces. After lunch we will start the trail back to Tagua Tagua lake. Here will be a boat waiting to cross us to Mitico Puelo Lodge. Check in, welcome drink and dinner.
DAY 5: BACK TO PUERTO VARAS
Free morning, lunch and transfer back to Puerto Varas or Tepual Airport (Puerto Montt).
