Antarctica XXI offers a unique experience combining flight and cruise to one of the most remote places on earth – the Antarctica. Fly in less than 2 hours from Punta Arenas to King George Island, from where you will navigate aboard the Ocean Nova along the Antarctic Peninsula, visiting the most wonderful places and enjoying the best wildlife sites of Antarctica. The ship has Zodiac boats that are well suited for disembarking and wildlife watching.
DAY 1: PUNTA ARENAS
Arrival at the city of Punta Arenas and transfer to Hotel Rey Don Felipe, where you will stay overnight. In the afternoon, you will meet your expedition mates and receive information on your travel program. In the evening welcome dinner at hotel Jose Nogueira.
DAY 2: PUNTA ARENAS KING GEORGE ISLAND
After an approx. 1,5 hour flight from Punta Arenas to King George Island you will have time to explore the area where the Chilean and Russian Bases are located. In the afternoon embarkation by Zodiac boats on board the expedition vessel.
DAYS 3 – 6: ANTARCTICA
The cruise between the South Shetland Islands and the western coast of the Antarctic Peninsula includes some of the most magnificent spots in the white continent, such as Livingston Island, Port Lockroy, Petermann Island, Paradise Bay, Cuverville and Deception Islands as well as the crossing of the Lemaire Channel, amongst others.
DAY 7: KING GEORGE ISLAND, PUNTA ARENAS
Return to King George Island where we will disembark in Zodiac boats at the Chilean Base, and head to the aerodrome to take the flight back to Punta Arenas.
- One complimentary night at Punta Arenas is offered on Day 7 of the travel program upon request.
- Antarctica XXI offers also a 5 days / 4 nights program starting in Ushuaia and ending in Punta Arenas as well as a 9 days/8 nights program starting and ending in Punta Arenas.
- Season from November to February.
